- A study on Recycling of Waste Gypsum Using Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation (MICP) -

본 연구에서는 폐석고 재활용 시 고온, 고압에서 반응하는 특징을 개선하기 위해 상온, 상압조건에서 반응하여 폐석고 재활용 방안을 마련하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 칼슘이온 추출시험 및 미생물의 방해석 석출 작용(Microbially Induced Calcite Precipitation, MICP)에 따른 침전물에 대한 광물학적 분석 및 구조 분석을 진행하였다. 폐석고의 최적 칼슘이온 추출 조건은 고액비 1:10, 용매종류 HCl와 HNO3으로 분석되었다. 또한 공기주입은 미생물의 활성도를 증가하여 반응시 간별 칼슘이온 감소량을 증가시켰다. 특히 MICP 반응 후 침전물이 생성되었으며, 침전물에 대한 광물학적 분석 및 구조 분석 진행을 통해 탄산칼슘(CaCO3)임을 확인하였다. 따라서 MICP는 폐석고를 재활용하는 방법으로 활용이 가능하다.

미생물의 방해석 석출 작용을 이용한 폐석고의 재활용에 관한 연구

In this study, to improve the characteristic that the waste gypsum reacts at the high temperature and high pressure when it is recycled, it was intended to develop the waste recycling method under the condition of room temperature and normal pressure. To do that, the calcium ion extraction test, and the mineralogical analysis and the structural analysis of the precipitation by the microbially induced calcite precipitation (MICP) were performed. The optimal calcium ion extraction condition was analyzed as solid-liquid ratio of 1:10, solvent type: HCl and HNO3. In addition, the air injection increased the activation of microorganism increasing the reduction of calcium ion by reaction time. Particularly, the precipitation was generated after MICP and it was confirmed that the precipitation was the calcium carbonate (CaCO3) through the mineralogical analysis and the structural analysis of the precipitation. Therefore, MICP can be utilized as a method to recycle the waste gypsum.
